Gallery: Mike Orthober

This magnificent leaping brown trout on an artificial water base was created by taidermist Mike Orthober of Wisconsin. This fish mount won Best of Category, Best Habitat and Taxidermists' Choice Best of Show at the 1996 Wisconsin Taxidermy Association convention as well at the WASCO Award for the Most Artistic Entry . It also won the Polytranspar Award and Judges' Choice Best of Show at the 1996 Iowa Taxidermists Association convention. At the 1996 National Taxidermists Association competition in Columbia, Missouri, this composition won First Place Division of Excellence which gave mike the 1996 title of North American Champion for coldwater fish taxidermy.
